What remains and why
This tool removes personal and descriptive metadata, including location data. It keeps only technical markers needed to preserve orientation, color, or JPEG rendering.
If Refentra cannot prove unchanged dimensions, decoded pixels, orientation, and encoded scan data, removal fails and no download is created. Your original file is never changed.

Frequently asked questions
Does removal make my photo anonymous?
No. Visible faces, addresses and other image content remain, as does the filename on your device. Check the image and its name before sharing; metadata removal does not replace that review.
Which metadata is removed?
GPS location data, EXIF details, XMP, IPTC, comments, and vendor metadata are removed.
Why should I remove metadata?
Mostly before sharing: photos often carry GPS coordinates and device details that you may not want to reveal.
Is the image re-compressed?
No. Only the metadata is removed; the JPEG pixels are not re-compressed and image quality stays unchanged.
