Remove personal metadata from a photo
Remove GPS, EXIF details, XMP, IPTC, comments, and vendor metadata from one JPEG without uploading or recompressing its pixels.

1. Choose one JPEG
Exactly one .jpg or .jpeg, up to 25 MiB and at most 1 MiB of metadata. Other formats and malformed metadata fail closed.
2. Remove privacy-sensitive metadata
Refentra removes GPS, camera and EXIF details, embedded EXIF thumbnails, XMP, IPTC, comments, and unknown application metadata. The encoded JPEG scan is copied byte for byte.
To keep the photo looking the same, a minimal Orientation tag may remain when required. ICC color, a thumbnail-free JFIF container marker, and Adobe rendering markers may also remain. The result lists every retained technical marker.

What remains and why
This tool removes personal and descriptive metadata, including location data. It keeps only technical markers needed to preserve orientation, color, or JPEG rendering.
If Refentra cannot prove unchanged dimensions, decoded pixels, orientation, and encoded scan data, removal fails and no download is created. Your original file is never changed.
