Frequently asked questions

Is my PDF uploaded?

No. The PDF is read and rewritten inside your browser. Nothing is sent to a server.

Does the text stay selectable?

Yes. Text, fonts and vector drawings are not turned into pictures. Only photos inside the PDF are re-encoded.

Why did my PDF not get smaller?

It may already be compact, or its size may come from content this tool leaves alone, such as fonts. Then no download is offered, because a bigger or equal file is not a result.

Can I get a PDF under a fixed size such as 1 MB?

There is no target-size mode. Try Balanced first, then Smallest file, and check the size shown in the result.
