Inspect GeoJSON

RFC 7946 longitude/latitude WGS84, 2D or 3D; all seven geometry kinds, Features and collections. Coordinates, closed rings and declared bounds are inspected. Finite round-trippable JSON numbers only; no legacy CRS, reprojection or topology validation. The computed box uses the smallest longitude arc; polygons covering poles or over half the globe need GIS verification. Filtered output is a canonical FeatureCollection; original foreign geometry members stay in the backup. Coordinates/heights must round-trip as finite JSON numbers with safe integers; precision changes are rejected (invalid GPX heights are diagnosed and omitted).

Files and values stay on this device. No tiles, remote references, photos or contacts are fetched or sent. Downloads may contain private data.

1 MiB UTF-8 input; XML 100,000 UTF-16 units, JSON 200,000; 20,000 parser nodes, depth 32; 1,000 features/10,000 coordinates; 200 contacts/100 properties; 100 CSV columns/20,000 cells; 2 MiB combined output; worker stops after 5 seconds.

Choose fields and policies before processing. Changing any input cancels the current job and clears the result.

How to use

  1. Source

Load GeoJSON text or a file, check its list of features, then select the kinds of geometry to include. Coordinates are longitude first, then latitude, not the other way round.

  2. Choose fields and policies before processing. Changing any input cancels the current job and clears the result.

The point coordinates [13.4,52.5] mean longitude 13.4° and latitude 52.5°. Keep Point selected to include it in the canonical FeatureCollection download.

  3. Supported method

Compare the selected feature counts, coordinate counts and bounds with the original. The preview shows only the first 100 rows, so check the full selection you download.

Questions

What does this result mean?

A smallest-arc box that crosses the antimeridian can have west > east. It is not an ordinary longitude min/max interval that spans most of the globe.

How do I resolve rejected or missing input?

Check the coordinate order and ranges and that the GeoJSON structure is valid. Unsafe numeric precision is rejected, so don't round identifiers or coordinates just to get them accepted.

What are the limits of this tool?

Local structural inspection and selection, not an interactive map or a CRS reprojection. Source ≤1 MiB, ≤1000 features/10000 coordinates. Keep the untouched original as a backup.
