Resize an animated GIF

  1. Select the GIF

Choose a GIF with full or partial frames. Keep the original size or reduce it while preserving animation.

  2. Set smaller dimensions

Keep the original dimensions or choose smaller width and height. The frame count, delays, loop and transparency remain.

  3. Check the file

Compare actual input and output bytes, inspect the animated result and download it. The output may be larger.

Frequently asked questions

Will every GIF get smaller?

No. This route preserves indexed frames and uses nearest-neighbor resize, not guaranteed byte-target compression.

Does it work on every animated GIF?

No. Full and partial frames are supported, but a partial frame that disappears at the selected size is rejected. Choose a larger size. Interactive extensions and unsupported disposal modes are also rejected.

Is my original changed?

No. The browser makes a separate output file; your selected original remains unchanged.
