How to use this calculator
- Set inputs and units
Enter an expression with explicit multiplication and supported functions, and choose degrees or radians before using trigonometry.
- Calculate
Check this worked example: sqrt(25) + 2^3*2 = 21; sin(30), degrees → 0.5; -2^2 = -4
- Results
Check operator precedence and the angle mode. Powers bind before a unary minus, and ^ associates to the right.
Questions and limits
Which functions and constants work?
Use sin, cos, tan, sqrt, ln, log, abs, exp, pi and e. Write 2*pi, not 2pi, and note that log is base 10.
Which input errors should I correct?
Close all parentheses. Division by zero, negative square roots and non-positive logarithm arguments are rejected, so don't expect complex values.
What does this calculation leave out?
A real-valued numeric parser: expressions up to 2,000 characters, ≤500 tokens and nesting ≤100. No variables, assignments or symbolic algebra.
