Tile materials calculator
Estimate tiles, whole packs and adhesive for a floor or wall; 12 m² with 10 % extra in 0.3 × 0.3 m tiles needs 147 tiles.

Quantity estimate only. This does not approve structural safety, load capacity, drainage, fire resistance or building-code compliance. Verify the design and local requirements with a qualified professional. Purchase quantities round up to whole packs.
Assumptions & formula
Formula and assumptions
w = Waste allowance/100; n=ceil(S(1+w)/(ab)); N=ceil(n/pack); kg=S(1+w)×rate
The prefilled values are editable examples, not product specifications. Enter your supplier’s yield, density, coverage and packaging values, and add an allowance for overlaps, compaction and cuts where needed.
Purchase counts use the exact entered decimals and unit factors, without a rounding tolerance that could discard a real remainder. π and irrational square roots use enclosing bounds; ambiguous counts produce an error. Counts must be safe integers.

How to use this calculator
- Set inputs and units
Enter the net surface, the tile dimensions, the pieces per pack, the adhesive in kg/m² and the bag size in kg, then choose the layout and the allowance.
- Calculate

The piece count is rounded before the packs are. Adhesive is a separate estimate based on area, and it is not an allowance for grout.
Questions and limits
Does diagonal layout automatically add waste?
No. The pattern you choose is recorded, but you have to enter a suitable allowance yourself, because there is no cutting optimizer.
Which input errors should I correct?
Use positive tile and pack sizes and whole piece counts per pack. Read the coverage units from the actual adhesive product.
What does this calculation leave out?
No joint-width layout, substrate preparation, approval of waterproofing or planning for reusing tile cuts.
