Answers for this task
Does a correct checksum assign a product number?
No. It only checks the pattern of the digits. GS 1 registration and uniqueness need separate authorization.
What should I check if the input fails?
EAN13 accepts 12 data digits, or 13 with the checksum. UPC-A accepts 11 or 12. If the check digit is rejected, correct it.
Where does this tool stop?
Code128 supports 1–80 printable ASCII characters. The retail modes accept digits only, not arbitrary Unicode or logos.
