Check the input and the result
- Prepare and choose the operation
Paste a stylesheet and choose minify or format. Keep any comments you need for licensing in the original source.
- Check a concrete example
Use this sample and compare the indicated result: .a { color: red; } → minify → .a{color:red}
- Check the output before you reuse it
Compare the selectors, declarations and custom properties. Test the result in its real cascade before you replace a production stylesheet.
Answers for this task
Does minification remove unused styles?
This operation compacts the parsed CSS. It doesn't know which selectors your HTML or dynamic application will use.
What should I check if the input fails?
Check for unmatched braces, quotes and invalid declaration syntax at the reported location. Process CSS, not HTML style tags.
Where does this tool stop?
Parsing gives no guarantee about layout, accessibility or behavior across browsers. CSS preprocessors and project bundling are separate steps.
