Input content stays in this tab; Refentra does not upload or store it. Optional aggregate action counts are sent only with your usage consent. Clear the workspace when finished.
Supported profile: CSV/TSV ↔ JSON arrays: 2,000 rows, 100 columns. Formula-like cells remain strings. CSV cells stay strings. JSON object columns follow first-seen key order; missing keys and null become empty CSV cells. Nested JSON is rejected.
Files: UTF-8 only; an optional UTF-8 BOM is removed on import. Error offsets refer to editor UTF-16 units.
CSV cells stay strings. JSON object columns follow first-seen key order; missing keys and null become empty CSV cells. Nested JSON is rejected.
Formula-like cells are exported unchanged. Spreadsheet applications may interpret =, +, -, @ or control-prefixed values as formulas; inspect before opening.
Maximum text: 200,000 UTF-16 units; parser limits can be smaller. Worker time limit: 15 seconds (regex 1.5 seconds).
Check the input and the result
- Prepare and choose the operation
Choose CSV or JSON input, the delimiter and the header mode before you choose the conversion direction.
- Check a concrete example
Use this sample and compare the indicated result: name,value alpha,001 → inputFormat=csv, delimiter=",", header=first, mode=json-objects → [{"name":"alpha","value":"001"}]
- Check the output before you reuse it
Check quoted separators, multiline cells and leading zeros. Cell values stay strings, including identifiers that look like numbers.
Answers for this task
Are formula-like cells made safe automatically?
No. Text such as =1+1 remains unchanged, and a spreadsheet may run it as a formula. Import untrusted cells as text, or sanitize them separately for wherever they are going.
What should I check if the input fails?
Use unique, non-empty headers for JSON objects. Fix any unclosed quotes, or select the correct delimiter.
Where does this tool stop?
This converts a limited text table, not an XLSX workbook. Formulas, styles and multiple sheets are not evaluated.
