HTML to inert plain text
Uses an inert parse5 syntax tree, never the browser DOM or HTML rendering. Script, style, template, embedded and vector content is omitted, and images are ignored.
- Runs in your browser
- No upload
- Check before download
Inputs stay in this tab and are not uploaded or saved automatically. Optional aggregate usage counts and coarse processing diagnostics are sent only after consent, without input content or filenames. Clearing or closing loses inputs; save needed outputs first.
Method and limits
Uses an inert parse5 syntax tree, never the browser DOM or HTML rendering. Script, style, template, embedded and vector content is omitted, and images are ignored. Paragraphs, line breaks, lists and tables have explicit separators, and whitespace inside PRE is kept. Optional addresses are inert text and never fetched. HTML5 recovery may repair malformed markup. Table separators keep empty first, last and middle cells and empty rows. Whitespace between table rows is ignored, ordinary paragraph whitespace is cleaned, and whitespace inside PRE is kept.
UTF-8 files up to 256 KiB; ordinary text up to 100,000 UTF-16 units; decoding of coded bytes up to 256 KiB. Byte codecs up to 16,384 bytes; lists up to 10,000 records each; retained tokens, graphemes, Braille cells and Unicode rows up to 20,000; HTML up to 20,000 allocations or nodes and depth 64. All output files together up to 2 MiB. A worker that can be stopped runs for at most 5 seconds; this is not a guarantee for the whole memory heap.
