Frequently asked questions

Why should I convert images to WebP?

WebP can produce a smaller file for web images, but this is not guaranteed. Compare actual bytes and inspect text, edges and gradients in the preview. Its quality setting is not directly equivalent to a JPEG slider; keep the original if the result is larger or visibly worse.

Is transparency preserved?

Yes. Transparent pixels are preserved, and you adjust the quality with a slider.

Are the images uploaded?

No. Conversion runs entirely in your browser; the file stays on your device.
