Remove metadata

PNG and static/animated WebP: recognized EXIF/XMP/text removed, ICC retained. HEIC/AVIF: one coded primary image or a single-layer grid, optionally with a standard alpha image. Grids allow up to 64 uniform direct tiles; limits are 16 million pixels per item and 64 million per graph. Only local mdat extents and recognized EXIF/XMP items are supported. Unknown graphs, depth images, nested grids, transformed or shared tiles, idat and sequences are rejected. Coded/derived image bytes and rendering properties stay unchanged. Other technical information may remain. This is not a full privacy certification. Classic supported TIFF: recognized metadata removed from all pages while strip bytes, orientation and DPI remain intact. Unknown tags or overlapping data are rejected. The result preserves coded image data. HEIC/AVIF may not have a browser preview; EXIF/XMP removal keeps file size unchanged by overwriting removed extents with zeros.

  2. Inspect the result

The tool removes supported EXIF, XMP, text and time chunks without re-encoding encoded image pixels. It keeps color-critical chunks.

  3. Download after checking

The result preserves coded image data. HEIC/AVIF may not have a browser preview; EXIF/XMP removal keeps file size unchanged by overwriting removed extents with zeros.

Frequently asked questions

Does this guarantee all private information is gone?

No. Visible content, steganography, retained color profiles and unsupported or unknown containers require separate review. The tool reports only categories it actually removes.

Does it shrink or recompress the image?

Only removed chunks save bytes. The encoded image data is unchanged; some files have no removable chunks.

Is my original changed?

No. The browser makes a separate output file; your selected original remains unchanged.
