Frequently asked questions

Why does my trimmed clip start a bit earlier?

The fast mode cuts at the nearest key frame without re-encoding, which can be up to a few seconds before your start. Choose Exact to the frame for a precise start.

Will the quality get worse?

Not in the fast mode: the video data is copied unchanged. Exact to the frame re-encodes to H.264, which can change the quality slightly.

Does it work on my phone?

It depends on your browser. Exact to the frame needs H.264 encoding, which works in current Chrome and Edge on computers; in Safari, Firefox and on phones it varies. If your browser can’t do it, the tool tells you clearly.

Is my video uploaded?

No. It is processed in your browser on this device; nothing is sent to a server.
