URL component parser
Break a URL into protocol, host, port, path, query parameters and fragment, resolving relative links against an optional base URL.
- Runs in your browser
- No upload
- Result stays on your device
Privacy & limitsRuns in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
Input content stays in this tab; Refentra does not upload or store it. Optional aggregate action counts are sent only with your usage consent. Clear the workspace when finished.
Supported profile: WHATWG URL normalization, optional base; no request, DNS lookup or trust check.
Maximum text: 200,000 UTF-16 units; parser limits can be smaller. Worker time limit: 15 seconds (regex 1.5 seconds).
Check the input and the result
- Prepare and choose the operation
Paste an absolute URL. For a relative reference, supply the base URL explicitly.
- Check a concrete example
Use this sample and compare the indicated result: ../b?x=1#part + https://example.com/a/c → https://example.com/b?x=1#part; path=/b
- Check the output before you reuse it
Check the scheme, hostname, port, pathname, query and fragment separately. Normalization can resolve dot segments and default ports.
Answers for this task
Is a successfully parsed URL safe to open?
No. WHATWG parsing establishes the structure only, not who owns the domain, whether the content is safe or whether the destination exists.
What should I check if the input fails?
Add a scheme such as https:// or a valid absolute base URL, and tell literal spaces apart from percent-encoded path characters.
Where does this tool stop?
No request, DNS lookup or TLS verification is made. Parsing credentials in a URL doesn't authenticate them.
