Input content stays in this tab; Refentra does not upload or store it. Optional aggregate action counts are sent only with your usage consent. Clear the workspace when finished.
Supported profile: YAML 1.2 core: no anchors, aliases or custom tags; 100,000 UTF-16 units. Formatting preserves exact numeric tokens and typed keys. JSON requires string keys and finite safe numbers without precision loss; 20,000 nodes, depth 64.
Maximum text: 200,000 UTF-16 units; parser limits can be smaller. Worker time limit: 15 seconds (regex 1.5 seconds).
Check the input and the result
- Prepare and choose the operation
Paste YAML and choose normalized YAML or JSON output. Check the indentation before you convert.
- Check a concrete example
Use this sample and compare the indicated result: count: 2 active: true → JSON → {"count":2,"active":true}
- Check the output before you reuse it
Check the types of the resulting scalars. Quote identifiers such as 001 when they must stay text and not become a number.
Answers for this task
Will comments survive JSON conversion?
JSON has no comments. The conversion keeps the data values it accepts, but not YAML comments, anchors or the original visual layout.
What should I check if the input fails?
Replace tabs used for indentation with spaces, look for duplicate keys, and remove unsupported tags or structures before you try again.
Where does this tool stop?
Only the limited, JSON-compatible subset of YAML is converted. This is not a validator for deployment, Kubernetes or CI configuration.
