Files and content stay on this device. Aggregate action counts are sent only with your separate consent. GIF: 512×512, 100 frames, 30 seconds, 16 million total pixels. One cycle; delays below 20 ms become 20 ms. MP4 has an opaque selected background and no audio. Requires an available H264 encoder for the exact output dimensions; very small frames may be unsupported.
Convert GIF to MP4
- Prepare the input
Choose a supported animated GIF and an opaque background for the transparent areas. The profile accepts up to 512×512 pixels, 100 frames, 30 seconds and 16 million pixels in total, and it needs an H.264 encoder to be available.
- Try the worked example
Two GIF frames with a delay of 100 ms each make one cycle of 0.2 seconds. The MP4 should show the composed frames in order against the background you selected. A GIF that loops forever is not encoded as a video that never ends.
- Check and save
Play the saved MP4 and check the timing, the areas composited with disposal, and the background. The output is opaque and has no audio. Keep the original GIF if you need the transparency or the looping somewhere else.
Questions
Why does the video not loop forever?
The export contains one GIF cycle. Whether a player repeats the MP4 is up to the player, and the video itself has a finite duration.
Are very short GIF delays preserved exactly?
In this profile, delays below 20 ms are raised to 20 ms. Compare how the result plays instead of assuming every GIF viewer applies the same timing rules.
Why can a tiny GIF fail although it fits the limits?
The browser needs an H.264 encoder that supports the exact output dimensions. Very small frames can be unsupported, and passing the file-size limits alone doesn't mean the native codec is available.
