Extract audio from video
Pull the soundtrack out of an MP4 or WebM video and save it as a WAV audio file, for example to reuse a voice recording.

- No upload
- Check before download
Files and content stay on this device. Aggregate action counts are sent only with your separate consent. 64 MB, 120 seconds, up to 1920×1080 pixels. WebCodecs support required. Split re-encodes; audio extraction creates PCM WAV; tags are removed. Compression is a bounded attempt, never a guarantee. Compression preserves compatible AAC/MP3 audio packets; other audio requires an available AAC encoder.
Extract audio from video
- Prepare the input
Choose a supported local video that has an audio track. Check the stated profile of 64 MiB, 120 seconds and 1920×1080, and your browser’s codec support. A silent video can't produce an audio track that isn't there.
- Try the worked example
A supported video that contains a two-second audible test tone should produce a PCM WAV containing that tone. Compare the decoded samples and the duration with the audio track you selected, and don't expect the original compressed audio packets.
- Check and save
Listen to the saved WAV at a safe volume and check its actual sample rate, channels and size. A PCM WAV can be much larger than the video or the original compressed audio. Keep the video and its metadata separately.
Questions
Does this copy an AAC or MP3 track without re-encoding?
No. This extraction workflow creates a PCM WAV from the decoded audio. It doesn't promise a compressed track that is byte-for-byte identical, or that the source tags are kept.
Why does a valid-looking video fail?
The file may have no audio, use a codec that isn't supported or is protected, or exceed the stated limits. The decoders available natively also matter, and changing the file extension doesn't add an audio track that is supported.
Can I extract audio from a remote link?
This job processes a local file that you select explicitly. It doesn't fetch the URL of a video platform or get around protection. The extracted samples are not uploaded, and the download is a separate copy.
