GIF allows at most 256 colors, timing in 10 ms steps and pixels that are either fully transparent or fully opaque; semi-transparent areas become white. Animated WebP only works in browsers that can decode it frame by frame (ImageDecoder API). GIFs whose loop builds on pixels left over from the previous run are rejected. Limits: 20 MiB, 100 frames and 16 million pixels across all frames.
GIF timing is rounded to 10 ms, WebP to 1 ms. JPG gets a white background. Frame numbers for saving refer to the sequence after trimming and reversing.
